We are excited to welcome Melissa Wormer to the Treefort team as our new Executive Director!
Melissa was born and raised in Delaware County. She has strong roots in the area and was excited to stay in the place that she calls home to further her education, begin her career, and start a family.
Melissa graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and became the Director of Finance and Budgets in the College of Architecture and Planning in 2008, where she still works. Last year, she completed her Graduate Business Essentials Certificate and Master’s in Executive Development for Public Service.
Melissa met her husband Jacob almost twenty years ago and together they are raising their two children, Peyton and Addison. Melissa and Jacob stay very involved in the community, volunteering with the Yorktown Swim Club, where Melissa is now the President of the board, volunteering in the school, and attending Compass Church in Yorktown.
Over the years they have felt a calling to work with and/or be an advocate for youth in the community. They have considered many options to do so. Melissa has followed Treefort for quite some time and realized that this was exactly what she was being called to do. Being able to use her experience and passion to work with the children, staff, board of directors, and community members to continue and grow the amazing mission of Treefort is exactly what she was looking for. She and her family are very excited for this amazing opportunity.
